City data aggregated onto one platform (Chicago, Illinois, USA)
Summary
Chicago has pioneered an open source solution that enables all the city's data to be on one platform. This means any resident or professional of any type can gain access to data that can be used to better understand how systems in the city interact. Open Grid is now live and able to be replicated by other cities. It grew out of a local project called Windy Grid. Furthermore, it is available on Amazon Web Services, which makes open source set-up much easier.
